About Me
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a private psychotherapy practice in Little Silver, New Jersey. I have extensive experience successfully assessing, counseling and supporting clients in various settings. Throughout my career I have been dedicated to working with individuals and families across the life span to help them better understand and cope with a range of mental, emotional, social and health related disorders. I work closely with other professionals including, doctors, nutritionists, educators, and other members of a client’s support system to provide comprehensive care and meet individual needs.
My training and experience allow me to utilize a variety of methods including Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, which teaches clients the role their thoughts and feelings have in their lives, and so they are better able to modify behavior. I incorporate Psychodynamic, Positive Psychotherapy, and Mindfulness/relaxation training in my work with clients. For the treatment of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), I utilize Exposure and Response Prevention as well as Cognitive- Behavioral therapy. I have been trained by the International Obsessive Compulsive Foundation, Behavior Therapy Training Institute.
As an Eating Disorder specialist I provide the education, encouragement and guidance clients need to transform their relationship with food, weight and body. I provide sound cognitive–behavioral techniques and coping strategies to help sufferers understand their eating problems and overcome them, as well as move from body hatred to acceptance.
I approach counseling with optimism and believe every person has the ability to reach his or her goals. I collaborate with clients, helping them connect with their strengths while discovering effective new skills to enhance personal growth and live more satisfying lives.
